Visited this place to see a band on Saturday night 23/09/17 ("The Ska's" were fantastic!). The bar "staff" were absolutely shocking, seemingly only serving locals. Obviously totally untrained in every aspect of bar keeping.
Eventually, after waiting very patiently with a bank note in hand while people were being served to each side of me, then waiting again while the customers who replaced them were served, the bar staff started serving the people behind them rather than serve me. I was being actively avoided.
In frustration at my invisibility (I'm easy to miss being 6`1" and 18 stone), I resorted to calling out "Hello" around 4-5 times before finally getting a sarcastic "bit nicer next time please"(!!!) from the surly barmaid who begrudgingly served me - I could have spat feathers!
I did note that the drummer of the band simply could not get served a drink of water at the bar, the singer resorting to requesting the water for him over and over again with his microphone through the loudspeakers.
It was also highly embarrassing to watch the drunken landlady forcing the band into encore after encore - after encore - at the end of 2 great sets.
The staff/landlord/landlady also repeatedly turned a blind eye to the group of youths trouping through the bar to the exit every 30 minutes or so with spliffs proudly in their mouths / behind their ears, each time returning reeking of cannabis.
To add insult to injury, the vinegary beer was certainly off / bad. It wasn't just me that noticed, and I was genuinely ill all the next day. I obviously have no stomach for line cleaner / bacteria.
I vow I will NEVER visit "The White Hart" ever again.
This review is 100% accurate for the evening of 23/09/17.

We did a visit as I heard it had been through a make over (which it has inside apart from the loo's). Its now a mini carvery. Still very good value for food, although my daughter said the gammon was a bit too salty and some of the side veg were actually cold. As its a carvery you can ask for a bit of each of the meats - beef, gammon, chicken and lamb. I loved the cauliflower cheese. The bar staff were quite young but did a good job. Marking it down a bit due to the cold veg more than anything. The speckled hen ale was good. I just wish they had a bigger child menu for the food though. Not many choices on there for the kids. (Its lucky mine went for a child portion carvery).
